THE JAZZ PAINTINGS

I've been painting for many years and have always painted to music - it's the environment in

which I work best, the one that inspires me. I listen to all kinds of music and am moved by its

dynamic quality, complexity and rich variety.

These paintings were made while I listened to classical music, jazz, pop and rock. My

interpretation here is a direct response to the power of music - how it sounds, what it looks like

in manuscript or on the printed page, the beauty of the instruments.

As an artist, the art of music has inspired me all my life.
